Innovation through research is one of the key challenges for research, especially in the digital age. Thus, all universities together with their researchers and teachers are users of digital technologies and tools (for example, in terms of storing and processing research results in a variety of digital forms as research data). Digital literacy at the universities is constantly evolving in order to help shaping the digital transformation. Services at different levels need to be ensured to meet the needs of researchers, research funders, universities, university libraries and data centers. There is a great need for action, but it is actively being worked on.
With its 20 universities, Niedersachsen has a dense network for high-quality academic education. Together with the non-university research institutions, the universities guarantee the locations for science of Lower Saxony.
In the light of the above, we are dealing with Research Data Management in Lower Saxony and at the University of Hildesheim.
